Nutrition & Lifestyle Coaching

What is a Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach (NLC)?

An NLC is an educator, an ally, a cheerleader, and an expert in the areas of nutrition and lifestyle.

As a qualified practitioner, an NLC works with clients, on a 1-1 basis or perhaps in a small group setting, to identify wellness goals, create action steps to move towards clearly defined goals and, in collaboration with the client, ensures all changes are both manageable and sustainable.

The approach is holistic, considering all areas of a client’s work and home life, to help them make long-lasting commitments to their wellbeing and health.

Who works with a Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach?

Anyone who feels they need guidance and support to improve their health and wellness.

Perhaps you’ve tried many different diets, maybe you’re tired of punishing yourself with exercise or possibly you’re simply confused by all the ‘health’ advice that is constantly fed to us.

Plus, there’s the juggle; the never-ending balance of home, work, family and social life to get on top of, so it’s hard to find the time to research, let alone the time to action change. It’s this feeling of overwhelm that has many of us feeling sluggish and just ‘okay’, rather than waking up with full of energy and in high spirits.

There are many different reasons someone may choose to work with a coach;

  • You may feel constantly drained and need support to find your energy again

  • You have a lifetime milestone approaching that you wish to be feeling your very best for

  • You’re preparing to start a family and would like guidance on how to support the process

  • You’ve had a little health warning that’s given you the nudge to take back control of your wellness

Whatever the reason, the vision is always the same, to become a healthier and happier version of yourself. We all deserve to feel good in our body, right?

Why work with a Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach?

Life is busy.

It’s so easy to lose your way when it comes to your health and wellness.

Whether it’s work that takes up your time, or a busy home with people always depending on you, it’s very common to let your own wellbeing slide.

Plus, there is so much contradictory information out there, it’s hard to identify what the best route to wellness is for you.

As an NLC I’ll take away the guess work and the time-consuming research, and instead I’ll work closely with you to create manageable and long-lasting steps towards positive change.

I’ll also be your cheerleader, encouraging you to prioritise your health, because in the long term being a healthier and happier version of you will positively impact all areas of your life!

How does Nutrition & Lifestyle coaching work?

I’ll help you identify your wellness goals, educate you on the need-to-knows and support you on how to make simple and sustainable changes.

I work with you on a collaborative 1-1 basis to reach your health and wellness goals. Together we delve into:

  • Dietary analysis (mealtimes, portion sizes, likes & dislikes, vitamin & mineral intake)

  • Your day-to-day routine

  • Stress triggers and external factors

  • Sleep patterns and environments

  • Exercise and movement

  • Barriers preventing change

All advice is tailored to your goals and changes we choose to make are guided by what you feel comfortable with. Together we agree on manageable changes to your nutrition and lifestyle habits. This is not about fads or gimmicky diets, but instead it’s about educating and enabling you to nourish your body, create positive habits and healthy choices.

How long do you work with your clients?

The length of time a coach will work with each client depends on the client’s specific requirements and goals. The minimum amount of time I’ll work with a client is over a 3 month period (minimum 4 consultations) and I do this because I want enough time with clients to ensure changes are viable in the long-term and sustainable long after our sessions together come to an end.

The maximum time I’ll work with a client? Well, that’s totally up to you. We can continue working together as long as you are benefitting from the consultations. I also offer ‘check-in’ appointments, so once your initial coaching package has ended, we’re able to check-in with one another on an adhoc basis to refocus and make any tweaks that may be necessary.

I offer a free, no-obligation discovery call, so we can chat and work out if we’re a good match, and if I’m the right coach to help you reach your goals.

How do I choose a coach?

Choosing the right coach for you is important and for this reason I offer a no-obligation, free Discovery Call. This initial call is 20 minutes and is a chance for us to discuss what your goals are, any ‘problem’ areas of your life you’d like support with and a little time for us to get to know one another. We both get the opportunity to assess whether we’re a good match and if I’m the right practitioner to help you on your journey.

To arrange a Discovery Call, just click here and choose a time that suits you!

It’s very important to understand that working with a Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach should not be in place of seeing a medical practitioner where necessary.

How are the sessions structured and how much do you charge?

New clients will receive an email with a questionnaire and food diary template to be completed prior to our first session. This questionnaire allows me to analyse current lifestyle and eating habits – without judgement – and prepare for our time together.

The initial consultation is arranged for a time that suits you and will be somewhere between 75 – 120 minutes depending on how much we have to work through. In this session, we collaboratively decide on achievable changes for you to trial in your day-to-day life and I will follow up by email with the written plan to which you can always refer back.

Further sessions are approximately 1 hour and are usually scheduled on a fortnightly to monthly basis depending on how much support you need. These appointments are time for us to review the changes, any impacts you have (or have not!) felt and how you feel. We can change, tweak and create entirely new recommendations depending on how you’re finding it and whether we’re getting closer to your goals.
